Welcome to Kathmandu, Nepal. Upon arrival at the airport, clear all the immigration formalities and outside the airport, our team members will be waiting outside with the Placard. You will then be transferred to the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will visit some of the UNESCO heritage sites along with some last minutes of trekking shopping.

First, visit the Pashupatinath. The magnificent Pashupatinath temple with its astonishing architectural beauty is situated on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Pashupatinath is also Nepal’s most renowned Hindu cremation site.

Then we will visit Swayambunath. Swayambunath a UNESCO WORLD Heritage Site is an ancient stupa is the most sacred Buddhist shrine of Nepal and is also known as a Self-Created stupa. The stupa lies in the heart of the valley above a hill.

Later visit Kathmandu Durbar Square. Kathmandu, the largest city of Nepal is the political as well as the cultural capital of the country. Kathmandu is blessed by a living goddess. The Kumari Devi is the most important of several living goddesses in Nepal. Walk across the Ason Bazaar exploring the spices and vegetable market all the way to Thamel a buzzing, visitor-friendly area. 

Also, Thamel is the ultimate place for trekkers to buy all the trekking stuff, ranging from local to an international brand, once can buy or rent trekking items as needed.  

Note: The Museum is under the restoration process.

Later drive back to the hotel.

We leave early with breakfast at the hotel. We will drive to Besisahar in our own vehicle which takes approx. 6 hrs. The drive until Besisahar is easy. Upon arrival at Besisahar, we get on a locally hired jeep to reach our today’s overnight destination. The 2-hour drive will be on a graveled road. 

Nagai is a small village situated on the river bank.

 NOTE: From Day 3 to Day 15, the accommodation will be on a simple lodge with basic and limited facilities.

Today we commence our trekking journey in the mystical Annapurna Circuit. After breakfast, we make our journey to Chamje. Walkthrough rice paddies and forest and cross some suspension bridge till we reach the cliff in Jagat from where you can witness the Marsyangdi Khola below surrounded by rocky hills. You can also see bee hives hinging along the cliff. After a short walk, we reach Chamje.

On our way to Bagarchap, we start passing along some magnificent waterfalls till Tal. Beyond Tal, the valley narrows and the path becomes high and winding. We pass Karte with a bit more cliff-walking and descend to the river to cross the suspension bridge and ascend to Dharapani. As you cut through a narrow field from the village, Dudh Khola, which originates from the south face of Manaslu, enters on the opposite bank. The Marsyangdi then veers to the left, and as Annapurna II becomes visible ahead, you arrive at Bagarchhap, a Tibetan village with prayer flags fluttering in the breeze.

Today, we start passing Danaque village and make our way for a steep climb to reach a Tamang village with a magnificent view of Manaslu, Lamjung, Annapurna and other mountain beauties. As we trek through a Tibetan village that acts as a transition between the lowlands and high hills, we follow a gradual flat path to Thanchowk, Kolo and through administrative headquarters of the region and the last major market before Jomsom. Chame also has a police check post and bank.

With LamjungHimal (6893m) sparkling in the morning sun, we set off for Pisang. Walkthrough a fir and pine forest, climbing to a high, rocky area as the opposite bank becomes an impassable cliff. From this point, the valley becomes extremely steep-sided as we follow the path to Bratang. A short climb from the village brings us to a rock-strewn area where we cross a wooden bridge and follow a high, winding path, before crossing back to the right bank again. Continue walking through a pine forest and as the forest ends, the valley changes from a V-shape to a gentle U-shape, opening up a wonderful vista before us. To the east is the peak of Annapurna as well as Pisang Peak to the northeast. We then reach a long Mani wall by a bridge and the lower village of Pisang.

Start with a steep climb along the ridge blessing us with views of the Manang valley and Tilicho peak. We then descend past Manang’s airstrip at Hongde, where we come to a level area from where the northeast face of Annapurna rises majestically above us. Walk past the fields, both on our sides. To the right below a craggy mountain, we see the village of Bryaga with its splendid monastery. After a short steep climb, we reach Manang.

As we are moving to higher elevations, we need to acclimatize to avoid the risk of altitude sickness. Manang is the perfect spot with its beautiful natural setting. Hike up to Khangsar in the afternoon for a short detour.

Walk past the tall trees towards the alpine grass and junipers, we reach meadows with a few horses and a number of yaks grazing around. The serene environment with meadows and steep slopes of Yak Kharka is the perfect place for us to spend the night or walk for an hour to reach Letdar.

Trekking to Letdar helps in getting acclimatized to the increasing heights as we climb along the east bank of Jarang Khola. In some time we reach a meadow surrounded by vertical cliffs, the Thorung Phedi. Sighting of blue sheep and snow leopards have been reported a few times in the area, whereas Lammergeyers and griffons are quite common.

Leaving the river valley, we set out early in the morning, provided the weather is good and it is not snowing. From Phedi ascend to a notch and turning left head for the Thorong La, takes about 6 hrs.

After we reach Thorung la pass, our entire hard walk will be rewarded by the beautiful views of Annapurna, Gangapurna and a heavily glaciated peak of Khatungkang. The pass itself is marked by a milestone of rocks (this may not be visible if there is snow).

Beyond the pass, you enter the river valley of the Kali Gandaki River after a 1600m descent with a view of glorious Dhaulagiri standing in the distance. After a while, the trail becomes less steep and enters grassy fields and meadows to finally reach Muktinath.

In the Hindu religion, Muktinath refers to a place of nirvana that houses a temple and a number of monasteries, making it a holy site for Hindus and Buddhists alike. The main attractions of the site are the Jwalamai temple with a spring and an eternal flame as well as the 108 water sprouts that pour holy water. These are visited by thousands of pilgrims every year.

Trek down along a level but the rocky trail through juniper woods to Jomsom via Jharkot and Kagbeni, which are inhabited by the people of Tibetan origin.

Today, instead of walking, we make a short 3 hrs. drive to Tatopani. The road from  Marpha to Kalopani is through a new trail past Chokhopani village which is a traditional Thakali village. The panoramic views of the Himalayas include Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Annapurna and many other snow-capped peaks. From here we cross a river and a newly constructed road to finally reach Kalopani and to Tatopani. 

Tatopani refers to hot spring. Though this was originally a natural hot spring certain changes have been made. Soak into the hot water to relax your body after a long trek is a complete reward.

Today, we again commence our trek to Ghorepani through villages of midland Nepal with terraced fields and inclined farmlands. As we hike we move past rhododendron, magnolia and other vegetation of the area. We finally reach Ghorepani as we witness the beautiful mountains in the evening sky. We rest in Ghorepani to make an early start to Poonhill in the morning.

Make a short early morning hike to Poonhill to witness the sunrise view over the Himalayan peak which includes the Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri. Though we have witnessed up-close, the panoramic view from Poonhill is another view not to miss.  Also known as a photographer’s paradise, we can spend some time here taking breathtaking pictures of the spellbinding surrounding, capturing the spectacular moments in a frame. Then we go down to Ghorepani. After breakfast, we trek a 5-hour trek down to Nayapul and end our trek. From there a short drive will finally take us to Pokhara.

Leisurely breakfast at the hotel. Then we drive back to Kathmandu, which takes approx 6 hrs. 

Upon arrival, check in to the hotel, where the remaining day will be at leisure.

Depending on the flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for your final departure.

The reporting time at the airport is 3 hrs. prior to the departure.
